From “The Garouse” to “The Garuda”
In the fifteen years prior to building our home and bringing our dream into reality there were many obstacles to overcome, lessons to learn, and healings to be had. We lived in and rented many different homes. We dealt with one financial set back after another. We were in a cycle of sacrificing our health for money and then our money to restore our health. We were deep in credit card debt and were facing health challenges of our own and of our youngest son. Something had to change. We were emotionally and physically exhausted and I was depressed. Living in a rented house that was deteriorating to an unbearable state without the funds or support of the landlord to improve it, only made matters worse. My youngest son was very ill and had been diagnosed with a severe allergy to formaldehyde which seemed to be in everything, especially in our home (this would lead me to studying Baubiology and my husband to learning about & implementing natural building practices).
